Our 'Newspaper Of The Week'
Beginning as a four-page newspaper of the
Black Panther Party, in Oakland in 1967,
The Honorable Huey P. Newton and The
Honorable Bobby Seale sold
copies of the
publication to several large U. S. cities
and to international readers alike. Its goals
were to inspire Black People, run a 'serve
the people program,' document their
racial struggles, provide basic social
services, and to raise the 'social
consciousness of Our People.' On April
25, 1967, Denzil Dowell was
cruelly-killed by North Richmond police
officers. Because this event wasn't covered
by the mainstream media, it served as
an impetus for the start of the paper.
Oh...and shout to My Man...
...Fred Hampton!

decisions, remember Our Great Histories,
to keep Our People up on current events,
to engage our populations to organize,
provide tips and methods to stay safe
in potentially-hostile environments,
and create mechanisms to construct
