Black Newspapers History Month!... 'Newspaper Of The Week!'...The Statesman!

   

Our 'Newspaper Of The Week'

is:

...The Statesman!


The Honorable Joseph D. D. Rivers put up a great 

fight against injustice and oppression by originating 

the venerated Denver, Colorado newspaper, 

The Statesman in 1888. 

People were sorry to see it fold in 1901.




Black Newspapers History Month, 

celebrated every year in January, was 

founded by Ralph C. Winge, D.D.S.

in 2025 to acknowledge, praise, and respect 

the Publishers, Editors, Reporters, 

Typesetters, Secretaries, Agents, 

Distributors, Newsstands, Paperboys, 

and all of the the Team Members, 

over the many decades, necessary 

to produce and disseminate to Our

Black Beautiful Populations the needed 

paper ( and now digital) instruments 

to inform, inspire, and promote literacy, 

so that Our People can make better 

decisions, remember Our Great Histories, 

to keep Our People up on current events,

to engage our populations to organize, 

provide tips and methods to stay safe 

in potentially-hostile environments, 

and create mechanisms to construct 

Our Enterprises for Our Outstanding Futures.




The Founder of Black Newspapers History Month,

Ralph C. Winge, D.D.S.,

is also a Historical Newspaper enthusiast

and USC Dental School Graduate.

Our 'Newspaper Of The Week'

is:

...The Wilmington Times Herald!


Published and edited by 

The Honorable Eustace Gay in 1941, it quickly 

became 'Delaware's largest colored newspaper.' 

But it had to close its doors in 1942.




Black Newspapers History Month, 

celebrated every year in January, was 

founded by Ralph C. Winge, D.D.S.

in 2025 to acknowledge, praise, and respect 

the Publishers, Editors, Reporters, 

Typesetters, Secretaries, Agents, 

Distributors, Newsstands, Paperboys, 

and all of the the Team Members, 

over the many decades, necessary 

to produce and disseminate to Our

Black Beautiful Populations the needed

Black Newspapers History Month!... 'Newspaper Of The Week!'...The Informer!

   

Our 'Newspaper Of The Week'

is:

...The Informer!

Muscling in on a great opportunity, 

The Honorable C. F. Richardson, Sr. founded 

The Informer in Houston, Texas in 1919, also

serving as its Editor-in-Chief.  

Among the information it gave to its readers 

was the blow by blow coverage of the 'Red Summer' Riots of 

1919, which started on July2, 1919 in Chicago, 

Washington, D.C., and other cities boiling from 

racial tensions after WWI, when there was a

fierce competition for jobs among the races, 

and any perceived slight caused violence. In 1931,

it merged with The Texas Freeman and formed 

The Informer And Texas Freeman.

Black Newspapers History Month!... 'Newspaper Of The Week!'...The Atlanta Voice!

   

Our 'Newspaper Of The Week'

is:

...The Atlanta Voice!


With revolutionary fists raised in the air, 

The Honorable J. Lowell Ware and


The Honorable Ed Clayton started publishing 

the Friday weekly out of The Honorable 

Ware's house basement in 1966.



The Honorable Ware's daughter, 

The Honorable Janis Ware has been


the publisher for the periodical since 1991.

The Honorable Donnell Suggs is the 


editor-in-chief.

The paper's motto is, "A people without a 

voice cannot be heard!"

The Honorable Xernona Clayton, the first

 

Beautiful Black Lady to host a prime-time 

daily talk show in the South, was, among 

many other people of note, a regular editorial 

and column contributor to the paper.

There is a printed edition, along with digital and 

social media platforms.






Black Football History Month 

celebrated each September was

founded by Ralph C. Winge, D.D.S.

in 2025 to recognize, celebrate, and

congratulate, with great pride, the 

remarkable and outstanding Black Men,

both past and present, who display(ed) 

exceptional skills with exciting and 

memorable onfield performances 

on game days, in the very popular 

sport of American Football.


The Founder of Black Football History Month,

Ralph C. Winge, D.D.S.,

is also a College and Pro Football enthusiast,

a USC Dental School Graduate,

and is elucidator of elatus labialis wingeulus.
