Black Newspapers History Month!... 'Newspaper Of The Week!'...The Detroit Tribune!

Our 'Newspaper Of The Week'

is:

...The Detroit Tribune!

The Honorable J. Edward McCall established

the Detroit Tribune in 1933 after he and his family

were run out of Montgomery, Alabama by the

KKK because he really started to get under their

skins by becoming effective and popular with

Our Beautiful Black People in striving for

equal rights which we deserve. In Detroit,

he continued to light fires under our Beautiful

People to organize and take actions in voting,

shopping where we are welcome, becoming

the top students in our classes, and showing

upstanding morality in all that we do!

However, with advancing age, in 1945 to 1946,

the family worked out the details to sell

the great newspaper.

The Honorable James Edward McCall

is also fondly remembered as a

total and gifted poet and

an eye-opening political cartoonist!

Black Newspapers History Month was

founded by Ralph C. Winge, D.D.S.

in 2025 to acknowledge, praise, and respect

the Publishers, Editors, Reporters,

Typesetters, Secretaries, Agents,

Distributors, Newsstands, Paperboys,

and all of the the Team Members,

over the many decades, necessary

to produce and disseminate to Our

Black Beautiful Populations the needed

paper ( and now digital) instruments

to inform, inspire, and promote literacy,

so that Our People can make better

decisions, remember Our Great Histories,

to keep Our People up on current events,

to engage our populations to organize,

provide tips and methods to stay safe

in potentially-hostile environments,

and create mechanisms to construct

Our Enterprises for Our Outstanding Futures.

The Founder of Black Newspapers History Month,

Ralph C. Winge, D.D.S.,

is also a Historical Newspaper enthusiast
